Rally in the Last Inning

Thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Psalms 103:5

Sometimes a ball team that has played poorly most of the game takes a spurt and rallies to win in the last inning. Old age-besets us in time, our hearts and strength fail us, and it is hard to know whether we are suffering from hardening of the arteries or hardening of the “hearteries.” The text tells us that our youth may be renewed as the eagle’s and the last chapter may be the best. It is not always so, but it happens often enough to encourage us for a rally in the last inning. You never can tell when God will do it and we do well to prepare for the possibility even if it is not a probability!
