We reward, coax, picnic, persuade, tantalize, trying to get church members to come to church. We have tried banners, seals, diplomas, badges, buttons, pot-luck suppers, oyster stews trying to induce people to do what they ought to do anyway because they love God. People go where they want to go. Where their hearts are, their heels will follow!

I woke up one night feeling uncomfortable because I was cold. There was a blanket at the foot of the bed but I was too sleepy to pull it up. I went around next day with a crick in my neck because I had been too lazy to pull up a blanket. The means of grace are available for all our needs but some of us never stir up ourselves to take hold of God. The remedy is there but it must be applied.
