The Ultimate Vindication
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:10, 11
The preacher of Christ, however much men may disagree with and oppose him now, has always the certainty that one day everybody will agree with him. Some day every tongue will make it unanimous that Jesus is Lord. It will be too late for the salvation of most of them, but our Lord will receive universal homage.
That day will vindicate our faith in Him in the eyes of all creation. We can afford to wait for that, but no unbeliever can afford to wait.
The Lordship of Christ is the center of our faith. The believer’s confession is, “Jesus is Lord.” One day the universe will make it final: “Jesus is Lord.” It is never a question of “Will you confess Him as Lord?” But “When?” Now, while you may be saved, or then, will it be too late?
Do not wait for that Ultimate Vindication. “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
